Josh Beckett is a retired American professional baseball pitcher known for his dominant performances in high-pressure games. Born on May 15, 1980, Beckett was a highly touted prospect who quickly rose to stardom after being selected second overall in the 1999 MLB Draft by the Florida Marlins. He became a household name in 2003 when he led the Marlins to a World Series championship, earning World Series MVP honors with a complete-game shutout in the decisive Game 6. Later, as a member of the Boston Red Sox, he played a pivotal role in their 2007 World Series run, winning ALCS MVP. A three-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, Beckett capped off his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he threw a no-hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies on May 25, 2014, cementing his legacy as one of the best postseason pitchers of his era.
